Job Objective
Lead the development and implementation of environmental plans, policies and strategies in order to prevent environmental problems and increase environmental awareness amongst the Company's workforce.


Key Accountabilities

Site Visits
# Visit locations and provide environmental support to operations personnel (Offshore / Onshore) to ensure safety operations.


Maintain Environmental Database
# Maintain environmental Database and records as required by regulation in order to support permit compliance and other requirements.

Environmental Policies and Strategies
# Develop and update environmental policies and strategies for the Company in line with national and international standards.
# Review and implement environmental technical standards, guidelines and regulations both national and international with a view to ensuring that Company's Environmental policies are in line with best practice and standards.

Attends to Queries
# Acts as the focal point of contact for all Environmental related questions or complains and provide information in order to explain policy and procedures as required.

Preparing Reports
# Prepare required written reports including monthly annual and emergency environment reports and other related in order to provide management with summary information on the environmental relevance and assessment of impact if any, on the business.
# Managing environmental data and provide environmental charts and analysis to present and monitor environmental performance on (monthly, quart and annually basis).
# Prepare EIA reports and getting Environmental clearance for new projects

Participates in Investigations

# Participates in investigation to ensure required corrective measures are taken.

Training Programs
# Participate in developing and presenting employee training programs and advise management on upgrading the training system with regard of environmental issue so as to ensure program content is up to date and in line with current environmental challenges.
# Coaching Company's staff on ISO14001 standard.

Participate in Management Review Program

# Participate in Management review program in order to update the environmental objectives and targets.

HSE Regulations
# Ensure that all relevant safety, health and environment procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed

Other Duties
# Perform other duties as assignment by direct supervisor in order to ensure that flow of work is continuous and adequate relief is provided.

Qatarization
# Assist in the execution of the Qatarization plan and the training/developmen t of Qatari national in order to meet the company's strategic objective


Qualification / Experience

Minimum Qualification
Engineer in Industrial Chemistry / Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science or Chemistry or related field

Minimum Experience
At least 5 years experience in the petrochemical field. Must have a sound working knowledge of environmental management systems and ISO 14001 requirement.
Knowledge of drilling and well servicing would be an advantage

Job Specific Skills
Must have a valid HLO OPITO Approved
Understand the business ares (Activities, process, sources of emissions).
Understand/Identify environmental hazards associated with the business
Know key sensitives in baseline environment.
Understand current legislation regime.
Understand HSEMS structure HSE processes and how this delivers ISO 14001 in area of business.
Understand and able to apply EIA processes.
Specific technical ares (may be required to made available for wider user). Atmospherics, water technology, Ecology Management Systems, Data Calculations, soil contamination, Emission Modelling, etc.
