College Profile

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses ten departments, covering a wide range of undergraduate specializations in the Arts and Sciences including English Literature & Linguistics and Arabic Languages, History, Sociology, Social Work, International Affairs, Mass Communication, Psychology, Policy, Planning & Development, Statistics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Public Health , Biomedical Sciences and Human Nutrition. The College also houses four Master Programs which are in Environmental Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Gulf Studies, and Arabic Language. In Fall 2013, CAS will launch a new master program in Material Sciences and a Ph.D. in Biological and Environmental Sciences. Additionally, the College offers a Program of Arabic for Non- Native Speakers.

It is worth mentioning that as members of QU, CAS faculty members have excellent opportunities to secure intramural and extramural funding for their research ideas. Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) is major source of research funding, with individual project funding limit exceeding 1 million/project (5 million exceptional projects) along with student research funding programs. As the national and largest University in the country, Qatar University is the recipient of most of QNRF awards, with many research- active faculty members able to win multiple grants.
        
        
The College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University, invites applications for a post of director of the newly established Centre   for social sciences and humanities (SCH).     

The main objectives of the Center are:

1.    Foster an intellectual community and enhance interdisciplinary research within and beyond Qatar University
2.    Support scholars to engage in innovative and interdisciplinary scholarly inquiry in the social sciences and humanities (SSH)
3.    Train new generations of qualified researchers in SSH
4.    Provide consultations, trainings, and commissioned research for the public and private sectors
5.    Organize research-related activities, including symposiums, workshops, seminars, lecture series, and other forms of convenings and communications
6.    Disseminate knowledge and the contributions of  the Center through various forms of publications 

        
Duties & Responsibilities:
        
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

1. Employ modern tools of interdisciplinary research in the area of social Science.
3. Preparing research proposals. and augment dissemination of research findings for publication in internationally reputable peer reviewed journals. 
4. Developing a research group focused on social sciences and humanities .

        
Qualifications:
      

1.Full or Associate Research Professor in the field of Humanities 
2. Publication with clear research agenda
3.  having a track record in successful academic leadership, including attaching major research grant income and research students.
3.  Excellent English communication Skills.

Detailed Description
To develop and manage a product portfolio that meets the needs of customers in their homes and meets revenue and margin targets for Etisalat.
This includes managing the change in revenue and margin mix from legacy fixed voice to broadband and broadband services. Customer Satisfaction and brand equity will need to be continually improved through working right across Etisalat UAE and the Group, partnering with external organizations, and applying best practices.

Monitor and analyze product performance trends from financial, competitive and operational perspectives.

To create, recommend & develop baseline standard pricing program.
Identify and recommend changes in delivering capability that may be required by executional teams (e.g. Channel, Customer Service, IT)

Provide Sales & Consumer Service teams with updates on existing & new product to be launched and competitive products.
Defines and reviews all policies, procedures and guidelines for Product Marketing Team and monitors and supervises their implementation.
Monitors quality assurance measures & standards to ensure compliance with corporation practices and international standards; ensure respective functions effectively support the corporate objectives, targets, standards and procedures.
